What are the responsibilities and job description for the Set Up B Technician position at AIM Services, Inc.?
We are hiring for a Set Up B Technician for a large automotive parts manufacturing facility in Franklin, OH.
Positions are on 2nd and 3rd Shift.
The role of a Set Up B Technician is to be able to operate Bender, process pipe in peripheral equipment conduct to maintain required quality and quantity standards. He/she must also conduct the set-up, adjustment repair and minor maintenance of assigned equipment, tooling and fixtures during changeovers and downtime. He/she should develop his/her set-up skills to enable movement to Set Up A classification.
The main missions of the role are to:
- When line is down, performs the changing of tooling, fixturing, guarding, adjustment, repair and minor
maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Instructs General Operators on the safe operation of production equipment.
- Obtains sample work-piece(s) to verity its conformance to specification using various instruments.
- Assists maintenance with equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintains the production run.
- Adjust sizers within assigned gap.
- Performs programming and tooling changes on assigned benders.
- Signs-off on the completion of set-up.
- Maintains the quality aspects of the product/processes and set up procedures.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
- Adheres to and stays abreast of company policies.
- Commits to the corporate goals, mission and vision.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Active participation in work teams.
- Replaces Set up A Technicians when absent.
- Reporting machine down time on paper or I Pads in real time.
- End of run before change over, adjust bender to re-run scrap long bar.
- Performs the duties of a General Operator during meetings and manpower shortages.
- May be assigned to count parts, write tickets or audit during inventory.
- May be required to perform other job duties as requested.
- Implement at least two improvement ideas per month
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:
- Demonstrates knowledge of how parts fit in all gauges
- Demonstrates ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to read all common measurements tools available (calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.)
- Demonstrates mechanical ability and aptitude
- Demonstrates working knowledge of production tooling
- Demonstrates ability to trouble shoot and perform complex problem-solving processes in the plant
- Able to perform light maintenance (preventive)
- Demonstrates ability to improve on process of pipe
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Satisfactory company work record, including attendance
- Trained in Lockout/Tagout and related OSHA regulations
- Successful completion of the company’s in-house training program
- Ability to follow instruction verbal and written - good math, language and reading skills required
- Good communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate with employees of all levels
- Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and in a positive manner
