Job Summary
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. The role requires performing all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading, and unloading (washers, dryers, and chutes), ironing, folding, storing, and delivering.
Responsibilities:
- Linens Management: Wash, dry, and fold all dirty linens, towels, rags, and other items as directed by management.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Clean dryer filters daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
- Ironing and Folding: Operate an iron according to standard procedures and ensure it is shut off at the end of the day.
- Cart Maintenance: Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
- Stockroom Management: Stock all linen closets throughout the hotel as applicable.
Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Work Environment: Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Lifting and Pushing: Must be able to constantly push/pull laundry carts (empty and full) with potential weights between 50-400lbs, and occasionally pull linens from washer to dryer with potential weights between 25-150lbs.
