Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Columbia, MO

Are you a results-driven individual looking to further your career in a dynamic environment? One of our top real estate partners is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their expanding team. This in-office role is an essential piece of their company puzzle. They are looking for an individual to bring technical labor skills to ensure the community meets the quality maintenance standards.

This is a direct-hire position paying $20 an hour.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain community guidelines by reporting community appearance violations to Community Manager
• Pick up trash and remove any graffiti
• Wash maintenance equipment (trucks, lawnmowers) on a weekly basis or as needed
• Perform seasonal maintenance in community common areas: plow snow, salt & shovel sidewalks, remove leaves, mow grass, power wash community buildings, and spray trees and shrubbery for pest control (state or county licenses may be required)
• Patch and repair common roads/resident driveways and paint curbs when needed
• Plant flowers and maintain landscaping
• Maintain, clean, and paint communal areas
• Change circuit breakers/read meters for water/gas/electric utilities
• Responsible for all aspects of pool maintenance. Use voltage meter
• Program irrigation timers. Change diaphragms in automatic valves. Perform sprinkler repair and adjustments. Perform winterization if needed.
• Maintain streetlights and yard lights for each home site
• Instruct new residents in the operations of their appliances, HVAC, garbage disposal,
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license from MO
• 6 months of previous experience as a maintenance technician or related experience required
• Ability to perform and multi-task general maintenance duties with minimum supervision
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, landscaping/grounds keeping, equipment maintenance, swimming pool/spa maintenance, etc.
• Must be okay with working outside most of the time
• Must be okay with the physical aspect of the position
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Potential on call at times
• Must be a reliable, independent worker
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
