Position: Payroll Assistant
Location: Englewood, CO
We are excited to partner with a well-established, employee-owned consulting firm in the construction industry to find a dedicated Payroll Assistant. This position will support the Payroll Manager in processing semi-monthly payroll across multiple companies. The Payroll Assistant must have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a good understanding of multi-state payroll regulations.
This is a direct hire role paying $59,000-$67,600 annually depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and verify employee timesheets for accuracy.
- Track and verify employee accruals and deductions.
- Maintain employee records and payroll data within the timekeeping and payroll systems.
- Process new hires, employee promotions, and terminations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.
- Set up and maintain multi-state tax accounts.
- Compile and submit union reports as required.
- Complete and file state-specific worker’s compensation, occupational, and quarterly reports.
- Perform employment verifications for employees.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of prior payroll or accounting experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
