What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Party Chief position at Aimic Inc?
We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead our field survey teams and oversee day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring junior staff.
Travel: ~75% during peak times
Responsibilities:
- Lead field survey crews for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and control surveys.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct surveys using GPS, total stations, and other instruments.
- Collect, analyze, and process survey data using CAD software.
- Maintain accurate field notes, reports, and drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients.
- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment.
- Mentor and train junior survey staff.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of land surveying experience, 2 years as a Party Chief.
- PLS license preferred or ability to obtain within a year.
- Proficiency in GPS receivers, total stations, and CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ORD).
- Experience with 3D laser scanning and drones preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions.
Salary : $35 - $40
