As a Collaborating Psychiatrist, you will work closely with our advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs) to ensure comprehensive and quality psychiatric care for patients. You will collaborate in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health conditions, providing oversight and guidance while remaining accessible for consultation and support. This position offers flexibility with remote collaboration options, allowing for a work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide collaborative oversight and consultation to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) in psychiatric practice.
- Review and approve treatment plans, medications, and diagnoses made by NPs/PAs.
- Offer expert guidance on complex psychiatric cases, including medication management and therapy options.
- Participate in regular case reviews, supervision, and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and best practices in psychiatric care.
- Maintain clear communication with the clinical team, offering feedback, support, and mentorship to NPs/PAs.
- Stay current on mental health research, treatment modalities, and pharmacological advancements.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Provide direct psychiatric consultation services when necessary, either in person or remotely.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry.
- Valid, active medical license in Florida.
- Experience in a psychiatric setting, with at least 3-5 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapy approaches, and mental health conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to provide remote consultation and supervision, if needed.
- Passion for working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
- Prior experience collaborating with Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) is a plus.
