Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Director for Primary Care to lead and oversee the clinical operations of our primary care services. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced physician with strong administrative, operational, and leadership skills. The Medical Director will primarily focus on strategic management, improving clinical quality, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting our primary care team. While the role does not require patient care, the Medical Director will be an integral part of our healthcare leadership, ensuring excellent patient outcomes through effective management and oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Oversight:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the primary care team, including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrative staff. - Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations, ensuring that primary care services run efficiently and effectively, with a focus on improving workflows and reducing operational barriers. - Quality Improvement:
Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, outcomes, and satisfaction. Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies to meet and exceed benchmarks. - Clinical Governance:
Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal policies. Ensure adherence to best practices in patient care. - Provider Support & Development:
Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to primary care providers. Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure that providers have the resources necessary to deliver excellent care. - Collaboration:
Work closely with other healthcare leaders and departments, including specialists, administrators, and support staff, to ensure coordinated, comprehensive patient care across the organization. - Operational Strategy & Growth:
Develop and execute strategies to expand and enhance primary care services. Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, and long-term growth initiatives. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as a liaison between primary care providers and senior leadership, advocating for necessary resources and addressing operational challenges. - Clinical Policy & Procedure Development:
Work with the leadership team to develop, implement, and update clinical policies and protocols to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) required.
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or other relevant specialties.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in primary care, with at least 2-3 years in an administrative or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of primary care operations, healthcare systems, and patient-centered care models.
- Experience with quality improvement processes, clinical performance metrics, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Ability to lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and accreditation processes.
- Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
