Minimum Hourly Rate:

$51.86

Job Description:

Instructor III is a part-time employee who is part of a labor pool that provides customized instruction on topics such as Human Resources, Safety, Business Management, and Information to business, industry, and community members on a need basis. Responsibilities include creating and tailoring course materials, incorporating company-specific business processes, and designing assessment tools for pre- and post-training evaluations. The role involves fostering a positive learning environment, employing relevant teaching strategies and technologies, and maintaining effective communication with business leaders and Aims Community College. Additionally, the candidate must manage administrative tasks, participate in meetings, and develop quality relationships with stakeholders.

Job Duties:

  • Provide customized instruction to business, industry, and community members. Topics may include, but are not limited to: Human Resources, Safety, Business Management and Information.

  • Customize and create course outlines and class materials/presentations to meet the business needs.

  • Incorporate business processes that the company requests to meet training needs at all job levels, based upon needs.

  • Create a customized assessment instrument/process to conduct a pre- and post- assessment.

  • Foster a learning environment that encompasses adult learning styles.

  • Employ teaching strategies and technologies relevant to the industry.

  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with business leaders, staff and employees.

  • Represent Aims Community College with a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility

  • Must be self-directed and motivated.

  • Participate in discussions and meetings with business partners and the Aims Community College coordinator to determine best practices for course customization.

  • Communicate regularly with the business contact and Aims Community College coordinator regarding training issues and/or challenges.

  • Submit required time-sensitive and accurate paperwork, which may include, but is not limited to: Attendance Records, Time-sheets, Mileage Reports, Curriculum and/or Assessment tools.

  • Assist in developing quality relationships with business, industry, and community members.

Work Hours:

  • Hours are on an as-needed basis, no guarantee of hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years related experience in subject matter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree or relevant certification in subject matter

  • Two years instruction in subject matter

  • Two years of industry experience
