Minimum Hiring Annual Salary:

$74,836.00

Maximum Hiring Annual Salary:

$78,578.00

To attain the maximum annual salary, employee must meet all minimum qualifications plus:

  • 5 (five) years of additional applicable work experience and/or degrees higher than minimum qualification degree. Degrees higher than the minimum qualification degree can be used in combination with additional work experience.
  • A combination of related education, on-the-job work experience, certifications and/or licenses that results in a candidate successfully meeting the minimum qualifications of the position, may be considered.

The stated salary amounts are not guaranteed in the event employment ends with Aims during any fiscal year.

Job Description:

The Professional Development Program Director at Aims Community College is tasked with designing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating a comprehensive suite of professional development opportunities for employees across all campuses located in Greeley, Fort Lupton, Loveland and Windsor. On occasion this position will travel to these locations to provide professional development support.

This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous learning and compliance. The Program Director will oversee the planning and execution of mandatory and optional training programs, including First Line Management (FLM), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, Title VII, and Title IX training. This position will routinely work with stakeholders across the College to ensure appropriate content is offered.

This position should envision professional development as a strategic investment in the organization's growth, ensuring that training aligns with both individual career goals and the organization's mission. The focus should be on fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, technology and adaptability to higher education changes. By providing engaging, relevant, and accessible opportunities, the Program Director empowers employees to enhance their skills, improve performance, and contribute meaningfully to organizational success

This position reports to the Chief HR Officer and will provide support for college-wide change management. This position will be responsible for researching best practices, understanding employment policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with basic employment laws

Program Development & Implementation:

  • Develop a strategic framework for professional development that aligns with the college's mission and objectives.
  • Design and implement both in-person and virtual training programs tailored to various employee roles and needs.
  • Establish a schedule for mandatory training sessions to assist in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including FLM, ADA, Title VII, and Title IX.
  • Create optional professional development opportunities aimed at enhancing skills in leadership, technology, pedagogy, and other relevant areas.
  • Supervise support staff overseeing and directing daily operations, providing guidance and performance management, and ensuring efficient team productivity.

Resource Management:

  • Identify and procure necessary training resources, such as educational materials, software, and external trainers or consultants.
  • Manage the professional development budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Maintain a comprehensive repository of training materials, accessible to all employees for ongoing learning.

Training Delivery:

  • Direct, facilitate and oversee the delivery of training sessions, ensuring they are engaging, informative, and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to provide specialized training in key areas.
  • Utilize various training methodologies, including workshops, e-learning modules, and hands-on sessions, to cater to different learning styles.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with appropriate departments to ensure compliance is being met for applicable annual trainings.
  • Ensure all employees complete mandatory training within required timeframes and maintain accurate records of participation and completion.
  • Generate detailed reports on training attendance, completion rates, and effectiveness, providing insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
  • Stay updated on changes in compliance requirements and adjust training programs accordingly to assist in maintaining adherence to federal and state laws.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with department heads, HR, and other stakeholders to assess training needs and develop customized solutions.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and senior management, advocating for professional development needs and priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages feedback and continuous improvement of training programs.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through surveys, feedback sessions, and performance metrics.
  • Implement improvements based on data-driven insights and emerging best practices in employee development.
  • Explore innovative approaches to learning, such as gamification, microlearning, and blended learning models.


Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or other related field; plus,
  • Four (4) years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. Of the required four (4) years of work experience, one (1) year must be supervisory and/or demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail with a strong ability to manage and provide oversight of logistics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Anticipates future trends, challenges, and think proactively to adapt to change.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other training technologies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development programs.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, policies and best HR practices.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of the following software/applications: Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Google applications – Calendar, Gmail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education.
  • Professional certifications in training or human resources (e.g., Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
  • Experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Experience with Workday (WD) and Database.
