Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Clinical Research Associate to provide expert protocol management and research support at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) within the Radiation Oncology Clinic. The Clinical Research Associate will support clinical trials, ensure regulatory compliance, enroll and coordinate patient participation, and collect and analyze research data. This role also involves assisting with follow-up evaluations, maintaining patient confidentiality, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to advance oncology research.
General Duties:
- Clinical Privileges: Provide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Director.
- Contractual Obligations: Perform tasks as per the basic contract and outlined duties.
Specific Duties:
- Protocol Management: Oversee and manage research protocols specific to Radiation Therapy Services, ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional guidelines.
- Patient Enrollment & Coordination: Identify, enroll, and coordinate patient participation in oncology clinical trials, ensuring adherence to study requirements.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, input, and maintain research data in accordance with professional standards and ethical guidelines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements and all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) and Military Treatment Facility (MTF) policies.
- Follow-up Evaluations: Assist with patient follow-up assessments for the STAMPEDE Registry and other relevant clinical trials.
- Patient Confidentiality: Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and hospital regulations.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with radiation oncologists, research staff, and administrative teams to prepare reports and document research findings.
- Training & Education: Participate in mandatory training sessions, research-related educational programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Protocol Management specific to Radiation Therapy Services.
- Working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding data collection, analysis, monitoring, and case management within oncology research.
Certification & Licensure:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Must be current).
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of oncology protocols, clinical trials, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and research-related software.
- Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with patients, medical professionals, and research staff.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to maintain and analyze research data.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high ethical standards in clinical research.

Additional Information:
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 07:30 AM – 4:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch).
- No more than 40 hours per week.
- Includes 10 workdays of scheduled/unscheduled absences per contract year.
- Scheduled Absences (e.g., vacation, continuing education) must be requested 30 days in advance.
- Unscheduled Absences must be reported before the shift begins.
Work Environment:
- Primary Location: Radiation Oncology Clinic, BAMC.
- Secondary Location: Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center (as required).
Immunization Requirement:
- Must comply with all health and immunization requirements set by the MTF.
Security Requirement:
- Must adhere to all Department of Defense (DoD) security and confidentiality protocols.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
