We are a school year program serving over 150 school-age children and their families. Our program is emergent, with a fun, creative and diverse staff. AASEP is currently looking for people to start employment as soon as possible for our 2024-25 school year. We hire seasoned professionals and those at the entry-level position. Our unique training program develops our staff into strong leaders that are comfortable with behavior management and developmentally appropriate engagement with children. We believe this is more than just a job. Our goal is quality and the appropriate development of the young mind. We are looking for dedicated, energetic, team players to add to our team. Supervisors are on-site at all times to support children and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive to work consistently and on time, ready to work and wearing clothing appropriate for play and in good repair
- Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings and mandatory training sessions
- Participate in continuing program-specific coaching
- Work under the supervision of Program Director
- Assist in setup, maintenance and breakdown of areas and activities
- Have the ability to work as a team in the supervision of children, maintaining a ratio of at most 1:15 in areas
- Provide a Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) curriculum that is inclusive and culturally sensitive
- Plan, Lead and engage in age appropriate activities and projects
- Light cleaning/miscellaneous duties as necessary
Additional necessary skills:
- Ability to follow directions quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to balance shifting priorities
- Standing for long periods of time
- Ability to bend over, squat down
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Engage in age appropriate play with children
- Ensure children follow safe practices
- Redirect negative behavior towards positive interactions among children
Qualifications:
- Complete an application and register in the Central Background Registry: Oregon Early Learning Division before date of hire
- Receive 1st Aid and CPR training, Food Handler’s Card, Mandatory Reporting and Health/Safety training within first 30 days of employment
- Experience with children 5-11 years old appreciated.
Hours:
- Monday-Friday 1:30 pm - 6:00 pm, required staff and curriculum meetings on Mondays 12:30-1:30 pm, additional hours available.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 22 – 30 per week
