A well-established construction firm is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee and manage its accounting and finance operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will lead the accounting team while handling key financial functions, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, job costing, and cash management.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide leadership, training, and development to the accounting team to ensure efficiency and a collaborative work environment.
- Oversee financial tracking for ongoing construction projects, including job costing, labor analysis, and allocation of indirect costs.
- Work with project teams on monthly requisitions and reporting requirements.
- Serve as a liaison with auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers, and financial partners.
- Collaborate with internal project teams to support financial reporting, job costing, and budgeting.
- Assist executive management with financial analysis and technology-driven improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations while assisting in benefits coordination and employee onboarding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
- 7 to 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Construction industry experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and construction project cost accounting.
- Leadership and team management experience with strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Sage 300 CRE and Textura is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000 per year.
