JOB SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost transactions, and the general ledger.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and handle tax filings, including sales tax and applicable business income tax.
- Generate comprehensive financial reports, highlighting key metrics, trends, and variances.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend financial improvements.
- Collaborate with department leaders to support budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Analyze financial data to identify risks, opportunities, and discrepancies, providing corrective recommendations when necessary.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Manage and maintain the company’s accounting software and related systems to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools or technologies to enhance accounting workflows and processes.
- Assist with financial audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
- Provide financial insights to support the company’s long-term growth initiatives.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and other projects as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting concepts (such as job costing and WIP reports) is highly preferred.
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Premier, or similar platforms) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
