We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Survivability Engineer with extensive experience in signature management, low observable design and Radar Cross Section (RCS) measurement to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, modeling, and optimizing radar signature characteristics of various platforms and materials to ensure compliance with design specifications and operational requirements. Utilizing advanced electromagnetic simulation tools and measurement techniques, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including design engineers and system integrators, to assess and minimize radar visibility. Your expertise will contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies in stealth capabilities and enhance the effectiveness of national defense systems.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electromagnetic theory, radar engineering, and applied mathematics, complemented by hands-on experience in RCS measurement and modeling. Proficiency in tools such as Xpatch or similar electromagnetic predictive software is essential. A collaborative mindset and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be crucial for success in this role. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in radar cross section engineering.

Requirements
- At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
- MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline. Allowable substitution: A BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the “Experience” requirements below, therefore, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
- Understanding and have the ability to execute tasks associated with NAVAIR’s Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), Configuration Management and Airworthiness/Cybersafe processes
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance
