Bay Heat Trace Estimator

Job Summary: As a Heat Trace Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for heat trace systems used in commercial applications. You will work closely with sales teams, engineers, and project managers to assess project requirements, analyze drawings and specifications, and create detailed proposals that meet client needs and project goals.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Project Assessment: Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
• Cost Estimation: Utilize cost estimation software and tools to prepare detailed and accurate material and labor cost estimates for heat trace systems.
• Proposal Preparation: Develop proposals and bid packages that include pricing and scope of work.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with sales teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project scope and requirements.
• Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of heat trace products, systems, and installation practices to propose optimized solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements. Be willing to learn and understand the products and services we offer.
• Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to clarify requirements, address inquiries, and provide document support as needed.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and correspondence related to each project.
• Other: We are a small company and like to help each other out in all types of tasks or challenges with face. A good attitude and willingness to be flexible at times is a must.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Knowledge: Be familiar with commercial construction. Have a general understanding of heat trace including cables, controllers, and accessories. (We will train)
• Estimation Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation techniques and software (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, estimating software).
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze technical documents and drawings to derive project requirements.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
• Organization: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Problem-Solving: Capability to identify potential project challenges and propose solutions.
• Experience: Previous experience in heat trace system estimation or related field is preferred but not required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or trade school certificate in Construction, or related field experience.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Office-based work with occasional visits to project sites or client locations.
• Hours: Typically, standard business hours, but may require additional hours to meet project deadlines.
