What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Technician position at Air Controls?
Air Controls - Billings, Inc, Montana’s premier HVAC, Plumbing, and Refrigeration Service provider is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician, someone not afraid of getting their hands dirty, can think ahead, stays organized, is highly motivated and self-driven. This will be a unique role within our company primarily focused on all facets of maintenance at one client location. Down time at client location will be supplemented with assisting the various Air Controls service departments as needed.
Essential Functions
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure everything is functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and building systems.
- Ensure the building and grounds are well-maintained, clean and safe. This may include handling small repairs, painting, replacing light bulbs, and other minor tasks.
- Ensure the building complies with safety and environmental regulations and maintain appropriate records related to inspections, repairs, and safety procedures.
- Keep accurate logs of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
- Work closely with other departments and vendors to resolve issues and improve facility operations
- Other maintenance duties as requested

Hourly wages range is dependent on experience. There are benefits offerings after probationary period.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, general construction, or related field.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in a maintenance environment.
- Experience in HVAC and Refrigeration products is strongly desired
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- High School Diploma or GED is Required
- Clean DMV and Criminal Background
- Pre-Employment Drug Screen required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in various environments (indoors and outdoors) and in different weather conditions.
