What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Engineer position at Air Distribution Technologies, Inc.?
PennBarry (an Air Distribution Technologies, Inc. subsidiary) is seeking an Application Engineer. The Application Engineer manages client relationships by answering technical questions regarding products and determining feasibility of custom product requests all while utilizing specific literature and SolidWorks 3-D modeling software.
What You'll Do:
- Provide technical assistance to customers and manufacturing engineers at the production facilities regarding HVAC products, specifically fan, blower, and specialty products along with other air movement products.
- Support new product development with input and review of drawings and technical feedback.
- Assist with criteria to help maintain ISO Certifications within the plant facility.
- Develop custom products to fit specific customer needs by coordinating feasibility with manufacturing, cost and quote custom product, and develop engineering drawings indicating how to manufacture and build the product.
- Manage projects under direct supervision of the Application Engineering Manager and support new product initiatives by identifying industry needs, idea/concept input, review of drawings, and technical feedback.
- Conduct technical trainings in person or via a webinar to customers on proper application of the products.
- Provide training on the selection software used for these products.
- Assist with maintaining the product specific submittals by updating servers with the most current revisions provided by engineering.
- Research relevant industry standards and apply them to PennBarry products.
- Create content for marketing literature, social media, and engineering manuals on the technical application and use of products.
- Manage CAR database and follow up on open items with each respective plant.
- Additional duties assigned by management.
What We Look For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year College or University.
- 2 years of relevant HVAC engineering experience preferred.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (preferred) or AutoCAD.
- Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time to respective manufacturing plants or customer representative offices for training and product audits.
- Proficiency using MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- HVAC experience/knowledge preferred.
- Experience working in a customer facing position.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear or smell. The employee is sometimes required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is also regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration.
