Job Overview
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and implementing best practices to maintain a safe workplace. This role will collaborate with employees at all levels to drive safety awareness, improve workplace conditions, and maintain compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and supervisors.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Monitor and track safety performance metrics, preparing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Manage hazardous materials, waste disposal, and environmental compliance programs.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and company leadership on EHS matters.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and best safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and EHS software tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- OSHA 30-hour or 40-hour certification.
- Experience in HVAC, metal fabrication, or similar manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and safety process improvements.
