Job Summary:
Maintenance Mechanic must be able to a variety of duties involving the installation, maintenance (including preventative), service, and repair to complex parts of machine tools, plant equipment, facilities, and buildings. Beyond the proficient fields, assignments are considered of average complexity and performed under little to no supervision; must have the ability to complete job duties at an acceptable level. This position is responsible for problem identification and troubleshooting. Participates effectively in a team environment.

Duties/Responsibilities
· Repairs, maintains, replaces, installs, and tests a variety of equipment that may include the following systems: electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment, mechanical systems, pneumatics/hydraulic systems, facility maintenance, and welding. Inspects equipment and diagnoses trouble or malfunctions. Analyzes equipment failures, determines cause, and makes necessary adjustments.
· Knowledgeable in operation of hand tools, voltage, and ampere measuring devices. Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and layouts. Must have working knowledge of techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used.
· Obtain work instructions from the supervisor, assist higher classified maintenance person and help with the more complicated systems, machines, drawings, diagrams, specifications, along with rules, hand and power tools, tapes, levels, squares, calipers, electric and gas welding equipment, hoist, forklift and similar equipment.
· Investigate and diagnose malfunctions of machines and equipment and determine necessary repairs.
· Provide preventive maintenance, clean, grease, oil, lubricate, change oil, filters and service machine and equipment as scheduled.
· Detect faulty operations, defective parts, materials, etc. refer questionable situations to the supervisor.
· Handle, store and mange the disposal of hazardous materials.
· Maintain work areas, tools and equipment in a clean, orderly and good housekeeping manner.
· Follow and comply with company work and safety rules (lock out tag out, etc.).
· Perform these and other related comparable duties as instructed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to work in a noisy, dusty, industrial/manufacturing environment, and exposed to non-toxic fumes, chemicals, grease and oils
· Ability to work with machinery and moving parts
· Ability to operate crane, truck, motor vehicles
· Ability to work with moving vehicles, ladders, and scaffolding
· Ability to work at heights, and in confined spaces
· Ability to properly lift/carry/push/pull/manipulate/transport up to 30 lbs
· Ability to occasionally lift to 50 lbs, and frequently lift up to 40 lbs., and consistently lift up to 25 lbs.
· Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
· Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists
· The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing or walking over hard concrete surface
· Exposure to recurring bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, or similar activities
· Ability to reach at high levels
· Ability to read, write, speak and communicate in the English Language
· Must have the physical strength and ability to frequently work more than 40 hours weekly
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use trades math, complicated drawings, specifications, precision measuring instruments, charts, etc.
· Requires the use of considerable judgement to perform difficult maintenance work, diagnose equipment problems and make repairs, modifications and adjustments.
Education and Experience:
Over 5 years of experience
