Air Distribution Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Research Engineer with expertise in LabVIEW to join our innovative team. The Research Engineer IV will play a crucial role in developing and implementing advanced control systems and solutions that drive our mission forward.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain LabVIEW-based applications and control systems used for HVAC product testing and evaluation, including the creation of executable files to run on data acquisition systems. Programs will follow requirements for testing as defined in ASHRAE 70, ASHRAE 79, ASHRAE 130, & ASHRAE 200.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to support the development of innovative technologies and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and refine air distribution products.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand test requirements and ensure specifications are met.
- Develop and implement testing procedures to evaluate the performance and reliability of air distribution products for compliance with UL 60335-2-40, UL 1996, UL 429, AHRI 260, AHRI 350, AHRI 440, AHRI 850, AHRI 880, & AHRI 1240.
- Analyze data and prepare detailed reports documenting research findings and project progress.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in science and technology relevant to the field.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, patents, and publications.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety, design standards, and guidelines.
- Mentor and guide engineers, lab technicians, and other team members.
What We Look For:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering – Mechanical or Electrical, Physics, Aerospace, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in research and development, with a focus on LabVIEW applications.
- Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) required; LabVIEW Certified Developer (CLD) or LabVIEW Certified Architect (CLA) strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of electronic control systems, including PID control loops.
- Proven ability to design and implement complex control systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Have a strong knowledge of MS Office and Teams
