Job Summary
We are looking for a Development Specialist to join our growing team! This is a full-time position that will be onsite Monday through Friday at our Berkeley, CA laboratory.
As a Development Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting product development and improvement, including process innovation, design, formulation and development support for the commercialization of new products, quality improvement of existing products, process improvement, conduction of experiments and analyses of materials and finished products. You also must be able to participate in consumable product testing (inhalation).
What You Will Do
- Attend the lab facility daily and punctually.
- Participate in both in-person and virtual meetings, including those outside standard business hours, due to the global nature of the business.
- Propose, conduct, and support coordination of the development, implementation, and monitoring of research and development projects.
- Prepare and present reports of research and development findings.
- Evaluate the scope and methodologies of research projects.
- Prepare and conduct laboratory experiments daily to support development projects.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, inventory, formulations, equipment, and utensils, following company and RDD policies, and using approved PLM / formulation management software.
- Support the development of product specifications.
- Follow policies and procedures used in conducting and administering research, demonstration, and evaluation activities.
- Support the development of quality assurance procedures and conducts quality assurance reviews on research projects.
- Collect, compile, and analyze research data, using statistical methods and relational databases.
- Use and maintain laboratory equipment required for each project.
- Conduct internal testing of product prototypes, including sensorial inhalation testing.
- Support the preparation of research budget estimates and cost accounting.
- Maintain a clean and organized office and laboratory environment.
