Job Title: Air Freight Handler
The primary purpose of this position is to process inbound shipment information, investigate and gather facts relating to each shipment discrepancy, and monitor listings in receiving.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Reviews Government/Commercial Bills of Lading
- Inspects shipments for any discrepancies to classified or general cargo
- Ensures all commercial freight bills received from carriers are documented and input into CMOS according to established procedures
- Receives Reports of Shipments (REPSHIPS) from originating shipping activities for classified, hazardous, and other special handling cargo destined for Holloman AFB
- Uses CMOS to run queries on shipments as part of tracing procedures
Requirements:
- At least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems
- Knowledge of standard DoD and Air Force Regulations, policies and instructions, and publications relating to the movement of freight in order to affect shipment of commodities
- Practical knowledge of shipment and receipt operations for the movement and routing of freight
