Job Summary:
The Air Force Civilian Career Training seeks a highly skilled and experienced Manpower and Personnel Program Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing developmental experience designed to broaden your skills and/or enhance your leadership perspective.
As a Manpower and Personnel Program Specialist, you will perform career broadening assignments in providing strategic and technical guidance as well as seasoned consultative management advisory services throughout an entire MAJCOM on the effective use of Human Resources Management (HRM), Manpower and Organization (MO), Readiness Integration, and Senior Leader programs to support goals and objectives and produce results that accomplish agency and command missions.
You will provide guidance, advice, and policy interpretation to management officials, program managers, and other specialists in Manpower and Personnel offices across the MAJCOM on developing solutions to somewhat complex problems of program improvement in one or more specialties as well as implementing and administering various Force Support programs across MAJCOM wings/installations and organizations.
Assignments may include trouble-shooting complex and sensitive problems and issues requiring a knowledge of advanced human resources principles, concepts, practices, laws, regulations, and a wide range of analytical methods and techniques to resolve HRM problems not susceptible to treatment by standard methods.
Duties:
- Conducts, leads, and/or participates in studies to improve assigned programs and/or influence policy changes for the MAJCOM that typically involve long-range, highly complex, and often politically sensitive topics.
- Designs comprehensive Manpower, Personnel & Services studies characterized by boundaries that are broad and difficult to determine in advance.
- Defines problems and identifies relationships.
- Tracks functional resource requirements and allocations;
- performs integrated, independent analyses of issues across functional and appropriation lines;
- proposes solutions at the appropriate level for resolution.
Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security level clearance.
- Must be a current Federal employee or have 52 weeks of service at the GS-12 or higher grade within the previous 52 weeks.
