The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Construction Control Representative (GS-0809-09) to work at the 439th CES on Westover ARB in Springfield, MA.

The purpose of the position is to serve as a construction representative with responsibility for monitoring and controlling the construction operations of large and complex projects involving specialized electrical systems, complex mechanical systems, and/or unique structural requirements for base facilities and associated utility distribution systems.
- Monitors and controls major segments of a variety of difficult and complex project plans and specifications.
- Maintains surveillance over complicated structures involving complex construction problems.
- Determines need for project changes, estimates cost, and develops project modifications.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain & maintain a Secret Security clearance.

- Practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of engineering principles relating to construction practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects of construction projects.
- Knowledge of inspection and safety practices and procedures in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of engineering and architectural plans and specification to read and interpret construction requirements.
- Knowledge of a broad range of professional engineering concepts, principles, and practices relating to mechanical and/or electrical systems, design, and/or construction in order to adapt precedents or make departures from established approaches in order to provide for specialized engineering and energy management requirements.

- An appropriate, valid driver’s license may be required for the position. - This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
