The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Full-Time Electrical Engineer (NH-0850-03) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC) 402 MXSG/MXDEQ at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Georgia. DUTIES: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior professional electrical engineer, performing corrective and preventative maintenance duties in support of a military installation. Leads a team of lower graded engineers/engineering technicians from a variety of disciplines and technical staff on large and complex multi-phase projects. 1. Performs planning and design work for multi-phase projects for a variety of non-real property facilities, equipment, and systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering. Applies experienced judgment in researching, developing, and preparing complete designs and quantitative criteria, cost estimates, and time schedules for various kinds and capabilities in diverse physical arrangements. 2. Serves as an electrical engineer consultant on all design aspects of assigned projects. Provides professional consultation on a wide range of difficult electrical engineering issues and problems. 3. Performs analysis and uses systematic, disciplined and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects. Evaluates and recommends procedures and innovative techniques and methods to achieve goals. 4. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment. RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1. Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, and extensive familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture; and knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to ensure work is in compliance with regulations and standards. 2. Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures; and work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds. 3. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control, budget systems, and management; environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and cur-rent legislative issues. 4. Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effective accomplish assigned functions. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, standard configuration and finding regulations, practices and processes related to system acquisition and sustainment management functions. 5. Ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections. 6. Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely, and economical solutions; plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain good working relations. ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 1. An engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is highly desired. 2. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 3. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for the position.
