Qualifications/Requirements
In this position you will serve as a professional electrical engineer, performing design, project programming and construction management/monitoring duties in support of a military installation.
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Obtain & maintain a Secret Security clearance
- Education requirements: Degree accredited by ABET or combination of education and experience-- https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/electrical-engineering-series-0850/
- Experience planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering
- Experience preparing, developing and/or reviewing design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, underlying analysis, technical drawings, and specifications related to a wide variety of projects, to include electrical distribution systems; interior electrical systems; cathodic protection; airfield, street, parking and facility lighting; Industrial Internet Control Systems (IICS) and other systems of major size
- Experience managing projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and maintains surveillance over construction contractors utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering
- Knowledge of other engineering and architecture disciplines to ensure overall compliance with contracted specifications, schedules, etc
- Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture
- Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations
- Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions
- Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems, and management; and of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues
- Knowledge of aesthetic and functional design techniques and skill in preparing project documentation, to include preliminary drawings, sketches, and construction drawings; and technique
- May be required to serve on Architect and Engineer boards
- May act as project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies as required
- Work may require driving a motor vehicle and an appropriate valid driver’s license may be required
- You must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position
