The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a professional generalized engineer and the principal technical expert to 309 MMXG/MXDE. The incumbent plans, coordinates, synchronizes and integrates innovative engineering procedures, plans, projects, and technical work methods with existing and emerging concepts within the engineering organization environment to assist in the improvement of the overall mission effectiveness. Advises and implements integration of concepts designed to enhance the strategic competency of the organizational goals and engineering production performance providing critical technological advancement and application methods and concepts. Organization Mission Statement: Deliver - Sustain - Maintain - Uphold Deterrence Qualifications: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain security clearance - This may be a designated Drug Testing Position - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable) - A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution is required. - Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. - The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. - This position may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities: - Mastery of advanced concepts, principles and practices in professional engineering which enables the incumbent to serve as an authoritative expert and consultant in the full range of systems and engineering functions. - Expert knowledge of advance engineering concepts, principles and practices that enable the incumbent to serve as an expert in the full range of system engineering functions as well as the ability to incorporate necessary training in program initiatives to meet mission needs. - Advanced knowledge of DoD, AFMC, AFSC structure, missions, roles, programs, mission areas, enterprise, and organizational relationships. - Advanced knowledge of weapons hazard analysis techniques, hazardous operations, engineering drawings and equipment design criteria regarding systems engineering and system safety engineering requirements - Ability to gather, organize, analyze and integrate facts, draw conclusions and devise solutions in extremely complex engineering areas. - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in the capacity of spokesperson for the Squadron/Branch. Must also communicate with mid- and top-level decision makers within the maintenance environment, his/her superiors, peers and personnel at the working level on issues related to engineering. - Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of an organization, and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff through subordinate supervisors, as well as analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
