The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Full-Time Interdisciplinary - Electronics Engineer, Computer Engineer, Computer Scientist (GS-0855, 0854, 1550-13) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the ACC, 688 CW at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this position you will serve as the focal point, senior technical expert/advisor, and key staff engineer/scientist responsible for planning, designing, directing, conducting, coordination, and advising on projects and programs of broad scope and unusual complexity involving systems engineering/computer science and technical integration concepts in network design and optimization areas. Performs cyber weapon systems analysis, and applies engineering/computer science concepts in support of technical projects. Participates with and provides expertise to program executive officers (PEOs), program and project managers, senior scientists, and hardware and software developers, technical staff and policy makers across the Air Force and Joint Agencies. Researches state-of-the-art technology for potential Air Force usage and develops recommendations for technology insertion programs. 1. Position is designated Special-Sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. 3. Position requires up to 50% TDY within and outside the continental United States. Requires travel by any and all modes of military and/or commercial transportation. 4. Must have a bachelor's degree in a related professional discipline such as computer or electronics engineering, computer science, or mathematics. 5. Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement, Technical Level II. Per DoD 8570.01-M, DoDD 8140.01 or succeeding regulations, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A Waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3, DoDD 8140.01 or succeeding regulations. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. 6. A master’s degree in a technical related field is highly desired. Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): 1. Professional knowledge of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, computer science, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures; and skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to apply changing technology to conventional and nonconventional computer system network solutions. 2. Extensive Knowledge and understanding of agency, AF, Department of Defense (DoD) and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s). 3. Broad knowledge of cyberspace systems and infrastructure technologies such as computer systems, digital communications systems, network protocols, and computer architectures; and cyberspace security analysis tools and techniques. 4. Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material. 5. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems. 6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in order to produce highly technical reports, position papers, and briefings; resolve conflicts based on mature judgment and experience; effectively negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.
