REQUIREMENTS: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Team Lead and focal point for the Wing-equivalent/Complex level long-range strategic plans; new programs; and for interpreting, developing, and implementing Air Force Inspection policy initiatives. Provides direction and oversight of internal and external inspections, audits, evaluations, reviews, exercises, and analyses to determine unit effectiveness and efficiency by assuring the work of the team is accomplished by performing the full range of planning, coordinating, coaching, facilitating, and related supportive duties and responsibilities. Ensures his/her team of non-supervisory personnel's operational, contingency, and mobilization plans adhere to policy and direct the effective use of installation resources. Generates reports on numerous Department of Defense (DoD) and federally driven programs such as Intelligence Oversight (IO); Wounded, Ill, and Injured (WII); and the Voting Assistance Program (VAP). Provide the Commander tools to promote high standards and excellence through credible, independent evaluations and fair, timely complaint resolutions to strengthen AFMC’s ability to deliver, field, and sustain war-winning, expeditionary capabilities. Conduct investigative services and evaluate Command mission readiness, compliance with critical items derived from safety, federal law, executive order, DoD, Air Force, or AFMC policy, directives, and instructions including nuclear surety. Perform assessments of support contractor performance and inspects Air Force and Command special interest items. Provide Center CC and subordinate unit commanders’ independent assessments of the Command’s critical mission elements. Provide AFMC/IG with assessment and feedback through utilization of Commander’s Inspection Program (CCIP) and other assessment tools. Conduct other commander directed inspections as required. Tinker AFB, OK or Hill AFB, UT or Robins AFB, GA Duty 1: Performs technical and administrative lead duties on a regular and recurring basis for 25% or more of the time by identifying, distributing, assigning and balancing workload and tasks amongst employees by skill level, proficiency and/or occupational specialization, making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of work assignments. Duty 2: Consistently exercises independent judgment in directing and assigning work amongst employees by using determinative factors such as team members’ expertise, experience, competence, workload availability, work priorities and team member functional development. Duty 3: Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinates the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information to the supervisor. Duty 4: Plans, organizes, and executes a wide range of complex activities for the wing-equivalent/complex Commander’s Inspection Program (CCIP), and the Exercise and Evaluation Program. Duty 5: Develops, integrates, and directs the wing-equivalent/complex planning activities. Duty 6: Manages the integration of multi-disciplinary resources necessary to support complex and/or wing-equivalent-wide tasks and projects. Identifies Duty 7: Performs thorough analysis of unit capabilities versus inspection requirements to determine the most efficient exercise and inspection scenarios which minimize costs and maximize unit readiness. Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of Public Laws, Executive Orders, DoD Regulations, Air Force Instructions, and other issues related to the inspection process, to include DoD and AF administrative and inspection policies, procedures, techniques, and practices, as well as public information release and denial determinations (Freedom Of Information Act, Official Use Request, Privacy Act, etc.). 2. Knowledge of Air Force, MAJCOM, and wing program goals and objectives; the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones; methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events; and the relationship of the various wing entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures; and knowledge of EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Skill in analyzing, planning, and adjusting work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources; and in analyzing reports to identify relevant issues, identify potential trends, and draw sound conclusions in order to make appropriate recommendations. 5. Ability to lead, motivate and guide the functions of the team. 6. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 7. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of IGI; and to plan, organize, and negotiate effectively with senior specialists/management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures. 8. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing; and work in a professional manner with wing leadership, as well as with local community, state, and/or Government agencies necessary to implement effective exercise and contingency response actions. Additional Position Requirements: 1.May be required to travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, or other functions away from the normal duty station. 2. Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. 3. This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware. 4. The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. 5. IAW AF guidance, incumbent must attend the USAF Basic Inspectors Course for UEI or CCIP (as appropriate) within 90 days (180 days for ARC) of assignment to an IG position; and Wing IG inspectors of nuclear-capable units will complete the USAF Nuclear Inspectors Course within 180 days of assignment to an IG team. Successful completion of other courses will be accomplished IAW applicable DoD and AF regulations.
