The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Police Officer and Term Police Officers (Not to Exceed 6 years)GS-0083-07 to work in the 88th Security Forces Squadron at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Ohio. Qualifications/Requirements: The primary purpose of the position is to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect, and investigate crimes, arrest or apprehend violators, and perform patrols within the assigned jurisdictions. - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain a Secret Security clearance. - This is a designated Drug Testing Position. - Education requirements (if applicable) Police Series 0083 (opm.gov) (Check OPM Quals Standard and Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR)) (OPM link for IOR) - Certifications/Licensure (if applicable) - Must have at least one year of certified police officer experience. - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and physical agility test. - Add Travel if more than occasional (Check PD & HM How much) Only occasional travel to attend the academy. - Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate all Security Forces vehicles and installed equipment. - Must agree to and pass a background check. 1. Knowledge of appropriate use of force and self-defense techniques to protect oneself and others in threatening situations including the ability to subdue and control individuals as required. 2. Ability to work and communicate effectively orally and in writing. 3. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, training requirements and operating methods required to perform the full range of police officer activities independently. To ensure compliance with an applicable nationwide preliminary injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to Executive Order 14043, that requirement does not currently apply.
