About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Police Officer (GS-0083-07) to work at the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) Department of Air Force (DAF) Police (AEDC/TSD-SF) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The primary purpose of the position is to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect and investigate crimes, arrest or apprehend violators, and perform patrols within the assigned jurisdictions. Desired Skills: - Department of Defense Peace Officer Standards and Training (DoD P.O.ST.) certified desired - Security Forces experience desired - 2 years of DoD Police experience desired - Knowledge of aerial surveillance principles to ensure police officers can identify SUAS systems Major Duties: - Performs the full spectrum of police officer duties within the assigned jurisdictions - Conducts Investigations/Surveillance - Performs as Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller - Performs emergency response and incident command and control - Performs observation of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) vehicles during patrol Qualifications/Requirements: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain Security Top Secret clearance - This is a designated Drug Testing Position - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical - Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, training requirements and operating methods required to perform the full range of police officer activities independently. - Knowledge of special operating requirements, methods, and procedures for enforcing specialized personnel access controls to prevent unauthorized access to areas where stringent security requirements are enforced - Knowledge of appropriate use of force and self-defense techniques to protect oneself and others in threatening situations including the ability to subdue and control individuals as required - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community management, employees, and other law enforcement agencies.
