Security Specialist, 10 SWS

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Cavalier Space Force Station, North Dakota is searching for a Security Specialist for 10 SWS (NH-0080-03, GS 12/13 equivalent). Description: We are looking for a security specialist ready to implement strategic planning for base anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) programs. To serve as a security subject matter expert, providing information, industrial, and personnel security program functions in support of the installation. Prepares risk assessments and formulates risk mitigation strategies based on current information and intelligence. Performs Contracting Officer Representative (COR) duties for security contractor services. Ideal Candidate: An extensive background implementing and running a base antiterrorism and force protection program with experience in developing requirements packages and funding procurement. Additionally, we would like the candidate to have experience as a security manager (having experience with the Defense Information Security System) and at least a familiarity in working with government contractors. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices. 2. Knowledge of DAF, MAJCOM, and installation/wing missions, functions, and structure. 3. Knowledge of security forces programs and governing policies, directives, instructions, and procedures. 4. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to conduct surveys/studies, accomplish projects, and evaluate results for the management and completion of programs. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 6. Ability to effectively manage and organize various program activities and tasks, and be familiar with administrative requirements of the Station, higher-level installation/Delta, and MAJCOM. Requirements: 1. Must be a U.S. Citizen. 2. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance. 3. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. 4. Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually, thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report." Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.5. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. 5. May be subject to recall during other than normal duty hours and may be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. 6. The position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). 7. Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training. 8. Subject to Temporary Duty Station (TDY): Approximately 10 days per year. 9. PCS / incentives are not authorized. 10. Position will close in 5 business days or 75 applications (whichever comes first). 11. Position requires SFPC: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification. 12. In accordance with 5 CFR 315.802(b), a person who is appointed to the competitive service by direct hire authority may be required to serve a probationary period. Prior Federal civilian service (including non-appropriated fund service/NAF) may count toward completion of probation when the prior service is: A. In the same agency; B. In the same line of work (determined by the employee’s actual duties and responsibilities) AND C. Contains or is followed by no more than a single break in service that does not exceed 30 calendar days.
