The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full time, Telecommunications Specialist, (GS-0391-11), working as the Combatant Command (COCOM) Video Teleconference (VTC) Specialist, at Headquarters (HQ) NORAD/USNORTHCOM (N&NC), on Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), in Colorado Springs, CO.
Salary ($75,890 - $98,653) based on experience
To serve as VTC productions specialist responsible for providing technical planning, coordinating, scheduling, promoting and providing VTC support to the HQ N&NC. You will plan and organize proactive VTC facilitation and presentation services for conferences, seminars, and symposiums in direct support of N&NC, National Level leaders, the HQ staffs, foreign and domestic visiting dignitaries, and the general public.

Qualifications/Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Top Secret/SCI” Security clearance
This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position
This is a Key Position and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve.

- Knowledge to monitor, operate and manage, while troubleshooting and restoring to service any of the components comprising the DISN networks which includes data & voice communications equipment, multiplexers, data terminal equipment and transmission media.
- Knowledge of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) standards and VTC algorithms.
- Knowledge and ability to understand general user requirements, coordination and planning to establish a plan for implementation of user requirements and for reviewing plans and telecommunications policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of a specialized nature is required for telecommunications equipment and practices, characteristics, and the differences between digital and analog signaling.
- Knowledge of methodologies required to operate the VTC facility and the ability to evaluate the interrelationships between telecommunications equipment circuits, servers, automated switches, operating protocols and characteristics, control/network management systems, interconnectability and interoperability of equipment, switches, circuits, and software requirements that differ from those presently used.
- Knowledge of capabilities, operations, and production techniques to be able to provide a wide range of video teleconferencing support.
- Ability to coordinate requirements for visual information presentations, briefings, meetings, and various classifications of VTC conferencing, to include scheduling and allocation of resources, administrative, and logistical requirements.
