The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time, Telecommunications Specialist (GS-0391-11) to serve at the 628th Communications Squadron (CS), Cyber Operations Flight (SCOI), Joint Base (JB) Charleston, Goose Creek, South Carolina.
Salary range: $73,939 – 96,116 based on experience.

In this role, you will provide technical advice; relate user requirements to existing technology, policies and priorities, systems capabilities and other factors; serve as an implementation program specialist; and monitor installation level telecommunications programs and/or systems requirements. You will oversee the base Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) including the planning, analysis, acquisition, design, development, implementation, quality assurance (QA), configuration, integration, maintenance testing, operational integrity, and/or management of networked systems used for transmission of info in voice, data, and/or video formats. Provide maintenance (MX) testing of electronic, electromechanical & mechanical telecommunications & cryptographic equipment/systems such as multiplexers, switches, routers, & modems. Operate, install, maintain & provide contract oversight over all telephone facilities composed of Inside/Outside Plant and Cable Plants.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Secret” Security clearance.
- Knowledge of a wide range of telecommunications theories, concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies, standards and operational requirements.
- Knowledge of performance characteristics of telecommunications equipment, systems, services, and transmission media to evaluate devices, proposals, and approaches.

- Knowledge of associated methods and techniques such as contracting procedures/legal requirements, cost analyses, and budgets.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to identify, direct, or coordinate actions required in providing needed service. You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
