Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking two full-time Supervisory Logistics Management Specialists to work in the Sentinel Systems Division, Product Support Branch at Hill Air Force Base, near Layton, Utah.
These positions (988605, 986319) are payband NH-346-04, which have a typical 2025 salary range of $124,531 - $190,424.
These positions are not eligible for full time telework; situational-based agreements may be available at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Employees will be part of a dynamic team, working with Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force Global Strike Command, Mission Partner Teams, miscellaneous Government agencies, United States Army Corps of Engineers, and industry leaders. Team members are expected to operate at a high-performance pace and develop and maintain a radical teaming-centric culture.
The primary purpose of these positions is to serve as Supervisory Logistics Management Specialists in the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate, Sentinel Systems Division, Product Support Branch.
These positions will have separate primary roles:
- Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist (988605), Product Support Branch- oversees the activities supporting the Product Support Manager Section Chief for the Sentinel nuclear weapon systems while providing strategic planning, alignment, integration and synchronization to transition ICBM weapon systems. A successful product support package is integral to the success of Sentinel and the continued support of one leg of the nation’s nuclear triad.
- Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist (986319), Product Support Branch, Logistics Integrator- serves as a Logistics Integrator responsible to the Product Support Manager for the development, support, integration and execution of product support/Life Cycle Logistics. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to manage/lead a multitude of interrelated efforts affecting development of software in support of the Sentinel weapon system, and Software sustainment.
- Represent the Sentinel Systems Division, providing strategic planning, alignment, integration, and synchronization to transition ICBM weapon systems for the nuclear enterprise.
- Establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
- Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization, leadership, and division objectives.
- Participate in special logistics and development management projects and initiatives and performs special assignments.
- Make periodic and comprehensive assessments and evaluation of program goals and objectives, which provide the basis for long-range planning.
- Act as an extension of Sentinel’s convening authorities, building collaborations, fostering synchronization, and creating a seamless alignment between MMIII and Sentinel activities.
- Serve as an enabling leader and cultural change champion for the nuclear enterprise; oversees innovation and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform typical personnel management tasks, such as: assigning and managing work within the directorate; organizing and conducting training; acquiring necessary resources to accomplish the mission; and providing feedback and evaluations for assigned employees.
- Proactively develop and present briefings and reports to Senior Executives.
- At least four years of relevant experience with day-to-day operations of logistics management, program management experience is typically required.
- Familiar with the Integrated Product Support Elements is highly valued.
- Familiarity with the nuclear enterprise, preferably with ICBMs, is highly desired.
- Experience with Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP) is preferred.
- Special Access Program (SAP) experience is a plus.
- Experience with organizational team building, leading the integration of multiple organizations, and setting clear mission objectives to achieve desired results and outcomes is preferred.
- Strong leadership, supervision, employee mentorship, teamwork and communication skills to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as the independence, assertiveness, self-reliance, and tenacity to get the job done is highly desired.
- Position is open to candidates with a background in life cycle logistics, engineering or program management.
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
SKILLS DESIRED (986319):
- At least four years of relevant experience with day-to-day operations of logistics management, program management experience is typically required.
- Highly desired experience working Agile DevSecOps software and/or Information Technology (IT) systems.
- Highly desired education/accreditation/experience in IT/Computer Management Systems software development and or related programs.
- Highly desired experience in software.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage/lead a multitude of interrelated efforts affecting development of software is highly preferred.
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- U.S. CITIZENSHIP
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Lifecycle Logistics Management “Advanced” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
- In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
- Candidate may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall to meet mission requirements.
