- Serves as an Electronic Warfare (EW) engineer leading the discovery, development, and transition of advanced EW capabilities to ensure a dominant USAF war fighting stance in anti-access/area-denial environments.
- Leads scientists and engineers conducting exploratory and advanced development of sophisticated EW techniques.
- Leads laboratory, field/flight testing, and demonstration of advanced Electronic Warfare technologies and concepts.
- Leads and engages research groups across academia, industry, Intelligence Community and the DoD for the development of new and unique technology and assessment capabilities.
- Develops and delivers technical briefs AFRL/RY/RI, AFRL/RS, and external stakeholders including Air Combat Command, HAF A5/7, PACAF, and other agencies on technology development progress
- Implements technical objectives through means of in-house and contracted efforts.
- Determines requirements for Electronic Warfare capabilities and employment working with operational partners
- Promotes a culture where intellectual property (IP) is developed, documented; protected, and rewarded.

- Applicants must have least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-02, or equivalent in other pay systems. This includes experience developing, maturing, and/or producing sensors, sense-making, autonomy or spectrum warfare technologies, development of technical/research and development programs, systems engineering experience, and leadership of cross-organizational teams.
- Positions will be filled using occupational series within the SCIENTIST AND ENGINEERING career field
- Applicants must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards of the position being filled.

- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret with access to SCI and SAP security clearance, as condition of employment.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management (N); The selectee will have 60 months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained.
