Position Duties include, but are not limited to :
Leads cross-functional teams developing DAF, AFRL, and directorate-level strategies for the DAF TEO and AFRL Commander. Also spearheads development of AFMC Strategy sections focused on AFRL
Understands sources of AFRL Competitive Advantage and recommends actions to fortify AFRL’s Competitive Position in a fast paced highly competitive environment spanning global military and S&T
Ecosystems
Tracks implementation of DAF Level, AFMC level, AFRL Level, and Directorate level strategies and provides timely reporting to the DAF TEO, AFRL / CC, and other executive stakeholders across the DAF
Drives continuous improvement of policies and processes guiding development of DAF S&T, AFRL Enterprise, and AFRL Cross-Directorate Strategies
Serves as a key node in the DAF wide social network shaping DAF Vision and Strategy
Builds relationships in the science & technology and planning communities, including the AFRL Technical Directorates, Air and Space partners (AFMC, Space Futures, AF Futures, etc), and DAF offices such as Integrated Capabilities Command and Office of Strategic Net Assessments
Continually evaluates the AFRL strategic planning process effectiveness and efficiency to produce strategic plans aligned with DAF guidance (e.g., portfolio alignment, effectiveness, technology balance, and delivery in time) and advises AFRL leadership of recommended improvements. -Maintains up to date awareness of demand signals, threats, and priorities for AFRL
Evaluates linkage between AFRL's DAF S&T strategic planning and programming processes to ensure planning translate into successful programming execution and transition to the warfighter
Identifies major trends impacting DAF S&T portfolios by analyzing warfighter needs, DoD sponsored studies, wargame results, HHQ guidance, think tank publications, and TD strategic planning activities
Coordinates and communicates AFRL strategy / transformation products and policies with AFRL Technical Directorates, DAF, DDR&E, other service labs, and industry

Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS / SCI Security clearance
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade level or equivalent grade level of the position being advertised

- Computer Scientist (1550) : To meet the eligibility for a Computer Scientist, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. - Acquisition Program Management Specialist (1101) : to meet the eligibility for an Acquisition Program Management Specialist, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Experience in support of projects, programs or assignments providing a requisite knowledge of contracting, acquisition, procurement purchasing or related functions of the position to be filled. - Operations Research Analyst (1515) : To meet the eligibility of an Operations Research Analyst, applicants must meet the following basic requirements : Degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.
