About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time, Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), (NH-2210-03), to work at the 96th Communications Squadron, (96 CS/SCXS) at Eglin Air Force Base.

In this position you will serve as the Chief of the Wing Cybersecurity Office, Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Plans, organizes, and directs Cybersecurity, IT, and information management (IM) activities which comply with legal, regulatory, and AF/DoD-directed requirements and meet mission and customer needs. Coordinates with program and project managers of other organizations and agencies in developing, operating, and modifying policies to ensure local application meets mission/project requirements. Serves as senior technical advisor on Cybersecurity activities. Stays abreast of changes in policy direction, keeping leadership informed of impacts on organizational requirements.

Location: Valparaiso, FL (Eglin Air Force Base)
Typical 2025 salary range: $88,621 - $137,000 per year.
Telework Information: Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible
Incentives: This position MAY be eligible for paid relocation (Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs MAY be paid). Specifics will be discussed with the Selecting Official.

Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.

Desired Skills:
  • 3 years of experience in Cybersecurity operations and policy
  • 2 years of COMPUSEC experience desired, including performing assessments
  • 3 years of TEMPEST experience, including performing assessments
  • 3 years supervisory experience desired

Major Duties:
  • Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of all Cybersecurity activities
  • Well versed in TEMPEST policies
  • Expert knowledge of Computer Security (COMPUSEC)
  • Manages the Data Loss Prevention program
  • Directs daily office activities to include schedules, assessments, etc.
  • Provides weekly updates on all programs related to Cybersecurity

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Obtain & maintain Top Security clearance
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position
  • This is a cybersecurity position within the DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF); the employee will be fully qualified in accordance with DoDD 8140.01, DoDI 8140.02, and DoDM 8140.03. Failure to obtain and maintain proper DCWF foundational qualifications may result in removal from this position.
  • Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of cyber, IT, or IM assessment, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation as well as knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, managing cyber, IT, or IM projects and resources, monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Ability to lead and manage information systems planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance as well as ability to make decisions or recommendations that significantly impact important agency cyber, IT, or IM policies or programs.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for the coordinated management of cyber, IT, or IM programs to include providing oversight of multiple projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related
activities such as life cycle management and program governance. Ability to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services. Skill in applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems.
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or alternative technologies or approaches. Ability to research and analyze external products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs.
