Job Responsibilities Include
- Inspect air freight shipments in accordance with strict federal rules and trained procedures to the level for which screener has been specifically certified.
- Make sure any paperwork related to a screened cargo shipment is accurate.
- Investigate and/or escalate paperwork anomalies.
- Record screening functions in accordance with trained procedures.
- Clean up and sweep security screening areas and other warehouse areas, dispose of garbage, maintain cleanliness and general housekeeping.
- Maintain safe operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Follow all FAA Hazmat and TSA Security Requirements and Regulations.
- Use common tools needed for opening and closing boxes, crates, etc.
- Carry out written and/or oral instructions regarding the proper performance of screening duties, including rule interpretations, record keeping and escalations.
- Write concise incident reports or statements and log entries into security records.
- Follow trained processes exactly the same way each and every time.
- Make sure paperwork related to the cargo is accurate and free of anomalies.
- Report and provide details, if instructed, of all TSA visit activity as trained, in a written report format.
- Maintain safe operation of warehouse equipment especially close to X-ray units.
- All other duties as assigned by a supervisor or the Station Management.
- Must have a high school diploma or a GED
- Must be a US Citizen (due to TSA requirements)
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks.
- Must b e able to pass a drug test.
- Must have the ability to read, speak, and write the English language.
- Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 70lbs.
- Must be able to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must have valid State driver license.
- Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge.
- Must be able to competently interface with local and federal authorities testing.
- Must be able to pass a color vision exam.
