Cylinder Mechanic
Job Summary: Evaluate, repair, and reassemble hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Use basic hand tools and measuring instruments to teardown, measure, evaluate, reassemble, and test hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders of varying size and complexity.
· Assess reason for mechanical failure, make recommended changes if any.
· Specify parts and required time to perform the repair.
· Document all findings and carryout the repair.
· Must be able to determine tolerances and metric-to-standard dimension conversions.
· Must have the flexibility to stay on task and on time with projected delivery dates.
· Assist in cleaning and maintaining various shop equipment as needed.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Mechanical Aptitude a plus.
· Must be able to use basic hand tools, measuring instruments and other specialized tools and equipment as required.
· Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
· Current Driver's License. Ability to become forklift certified.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Related experience and/or training are strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
