Balazs Nanoanalysis is a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics is world-wide leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
Seeking a Scientist II to join the Surfaces and Materials Analysis Lab, specializing in trace and ultracetrace metal analysis using ICP-MS, HR-ICP-MS. The candidates must have prior experience with metal analysis, acid handling, sample preparation for complex matrices, and method development for ICP-MS, previous laser ablation ICP-MS is highly desirable. A strong background in statistical analysis, and method uncertainty determinations is a must.
Job Responsibilities
Manage large projects
Provides technical support to chemists and non-managerial direction
Ability to perform analysis and research with minimum supervision.
Develop new methods for additional lab capabilities
Develop practical and robust new methods for analysis of chemicals and materials used in the semiconductor and associated high tech industries.
Investigates customer problems, eg. customer contamination issues
Maintain optimum laboratory instrument performance and feedback into preventive maintenance programs.
Perform routine and non-routine analysis and data interpretation.
Possess a good understanding of process flow in an analytical laboratory.
Prepare analysis reports and communicate with customers.
Publish and promote new analytical capabilities research findings in industry journals and trade magazines and present new developments at national and international conferences.
Supports customers projects, eg. MDL studies, continuous improvement
Train lab staff to ensure new method implementation.
Understand the immediate and strategic need of the customer for new analysis procedures
Work with manager and other lab members to ensure smooth workflow and overall customer satisfaction.
Work with sales and marketing to promote new offerings by writing data sheets and presenting results at customers' sites.
Qualifications
Bachelors of Science in Chemistry or Similar Science with 15 years of experience required ORMasters of Science in Chemistry or Similar Science with 7 years of experience required ORPh.D. in Chemistry or Similar Science with with 2-5 yrs of experience required
Ability to perform analysis and research with minimum supervision.
Must possess strong communication skills: verbal and written.
Ability to work with others as a team.
Highly organized, disciplined, and goal oriented.
Possess a good work ethic and know how to get things done.
Ability to work under pressure.
Possess good personal time management skills.
Possess a good understanding of process flow in an analytical laboratory.
Understand industrial processes and be business savvy.
Work safely at all times and ensure a safety culture and a safe working environment in the laboratory.
The Salary rate range for this position in California is $110,000.00 to $120,000.00
