Summary About the position : This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR - Air Force Inns. This position is guaranteed 35 hours but can be scheduled up to 40 hours per week. Physical Effort : The work involves standing and walking continuously on concrete floors and other hard surfaces. Workers continually handle pieces of laundry weighing up to 10 pounds and as much as 20 pounds. Frequently stooping and lifting bulk items weighing up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities Provides bulk laundry services for items such as sheets, towels, bath rugs, etc. Operates commercial type washers and dryers ensuring machines are properly loaded. Receives, counts, sorts, bundles, washes dries, folds, and sorts linen, cleaning rags, and other items suitable for laundering. Writes laundry receiving and issuance reports. Inspects the quality, quantity, and types of items being submitted for laundering. Shakes out tangled, semi-dry items for flatwork ironing team or hand-feeding into automatic spreader. Feeding items, e.g. sheets or towels, into flatwork ironer; holding items taut as the leading edge feeds into the pressure roll. Uses ironer and automatic folder along with wrapping table to finish linens and place in cart for transport to linen room. Keeps track of items received and items issued in return. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition. Performs other related duties as assigned.
