Job Title: Architect/Engineer (Accelerated Hire)
This position is located at the Civil Engineering Squadron of an Air National Guard Wing and is part of the CA 146 AW.
The title of Architect, General Engineer, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and occupational series will be assigned based on the qualifications of the selected incumbent.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervisory (less than 25%) and technical assistance to the Base Architect/Engineer in overseeing and managing engineering and construction requirements for the installation.
- Plan work to be accomplished by the civil engineering team, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules.
- Coordinate work with the civil engineering team based on organization priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments.
- Prepare or direct the preparation of engineering and architectural drawings, scopes of work, specifications, and independent cost estimates for construction, modification, and maintenance of military buildings, structures, pavements, grounds, and utilities systems.
- Review architectural drawings, sketches, submittals, requests for information, and specifications for technical adequacy, constructability, maintainability, operability, and interpretation in terms of mission operations, facility usage, standards, regulations, manpower, supplies, and equipment.
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET.
- Differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: strength of materials, electrical fields and circuits, nature and properties of materials, and any other comparable area.
- Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Written test evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
- Specified academic courses such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
