These are National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Positions.

These National Guard positions are Temporary GS-0083-08 POLICE OFFICER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2156000 and are part of the MO 139th Airlift Wing. These are bargaining positions.

Qualifications:

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: As a National Guard Title 32 Dual Status applicant, must possess a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade of this position.

GS-08 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 6 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to conduct formal combat arms training and maintenance activities for a Security Forces function, control and operate firing ranges; inspect, repair, and maintain ground weapons; enforce law, maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installation; and oversee the work activities of individuals assigned to a Security Forces Combat Arms function. The specialized experience must also demonstrate skill in securing crime and incident scenes; apprehending and detaining suspects; searching persons and property; and collecting, seizing, and preserving evidence; and conducting interviews of witnesses and suspects and obtains statements and testifies in official judicial proceedings; responding to disaster and relief operations and participating in contingencies. Knowledgeable in developing plans, policies, procedures, and detailed instructions to implement security force programs. Is competent and experienced in maintaining accountability and ensuring security for weapons, ammunition, and explosives utilized in the course of instruction in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions. Experienced in implementing ground weapons training programs. Experienced in the control and safeguarding of arms, ammunition, and equipment; and, instructs ground weapons qualification training. Experienced in inspecting ground weapons, replacing unserviceable parts, and analyzing malfunctions by inspections and serviceability testing; firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability; understand how to control and operate firing ranges and associated facilities to include supervising construction and rehabilitation; providing instructions on the proper use of handguns, rifles, machine guns and other base defense/Must possess at least 6 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to conduct formal combat arms training and maintenance activities for a Security Forces function, control and operate firing ranges; inspect, repair, and maintain ground weapons; enforce law, maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installation; and oversee the work activities of individuals assigned to a Security Forces Combat Arms function? Experienced in inspecting ground weapons, replacing unserviceable parts, and analyzing malfunctions by inspections and serviceability testing; firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability; understand how to control and operate firing ranges and associated facilities to include supervising construction and rehabilitation; providing instructions on the proper use of handguns, rifles, machine guns and other base defense/ground combat skills equipment, in accordance with approved lesson plans and course control documents.

Completion of the Security Forces (SF) Apprentice Course is mandatory. Must have been awarded an entry level Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) of 3P031.

LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT:
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
