The Air National Guard Units are seeking a highly skilled Senior Architectural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our civil engineering squadron, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering and construction requirements for our installation.
About the Role
This is a T5 Excepted Service, Indefinite Position with opportunities for non-competitively conversion to permanent status. The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical assistance to the Base Architect/Engineer in planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating architectural or engineering activities in accordance with base and National Guard policies and standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules;
- Responsible for the acquisition, construction, maintenance, repair, and operating of real property facilities, and provides related management, engineering, and other support work;
- Coordinate plans, exchange information, recommend policy or procedures, and keep apprised of new architecture and engineering developments;
- Provide technical instructions and information on architectural, engineering, and other technical requirements and assign phases of projects to subordinate architects, engineers, engineering technicians, and draftsmen.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, such as engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology;
- At least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance;
- Demonstrated knowledge of physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of engineering sciences and techniques;
- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
