Air Products (NYSE:APD) is seeking Plant Operators / Operations Technicians within our U.S. industrial gas facilities in the South, Northeast, and Midwest sub-Regions. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting processes and equipment in a facility producing and shipping various industrial gases. Responsibilities include working within procedure-based systems to ensure EH&S compliance, quality assurance, reliability, and cost control.

Job Responsibilities:
- Fulfill both outside and inside operations tasks to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the facility
- Issue Safety Work Permits, implement Lock-Out/Tag Out, and manage field execution of maintenance contractors while working in the facility
- Follow Site Work Instruction Manuals and adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety Standards
- Work with various engineering functions to solve plant process issues and maximize efficiencies
- Perform routine rounds and preventative maintenance tasks
- Perform water treatment tests for various boiler and cooling water systems
- Maintain training program requirements and certifications
- Monitor and adjust plant process conditions using various valves and operating equipment
- Solve plant process issues using various indicators and DCS trends
Required Skills / Abilities:
- This is a safety sensitive position and requires a strong commitment to safety
- Ability to work as a team and focus on operational excellence
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Ability to read and understand piping and instrumentation drawings
- Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (days and nights) to support the 24/7 operation
- Willing to work holidays, weekends, and on-call
- Electrical, instrument, or mechanical maintenance experience is a plus
- Relevant military experience/training is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Climb ladders and steps
- Lift at least 50 lbs.
- Look at and read a computer screen for several hours per shift
- Occasionally work on elevated platforms (permanent and temporary)
- Work in all weather conditions
Education and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with chemical processing or petrochemical preferred
- Associates degree in Process Technology or Engineering is advantageous and may be considered in lieu of experience
