Position Overview
We are seeking a self-starter with a passion for environmental policy and greenhouse gas markets to join our team as an Emissions Markets Analyst. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on learning, excels in detailed analysis, and can synthesize complex regulatory information into actionable insights. The candidate must be highly organized, proficient in Excel, and adept at presenting regulatory information clearly and concisely.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental Policy Analysis: Interpret and evaluate regulations impacting cap-and-trade programs, carbon markets, low-carbon fuel standards, and renewable energy credit markets.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to support AQC’s strategic objectives.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of trends and emerging developments in greenhouse gas and renewable energy markets.
- Data Analysis: Use Excel to track, organize, and analyze large datasets, building models and generating actionable insights.
- Content Creation: Develop a weekly market mailer with concise and relevant updates tailored to the audience.
- Presentations: Create and deliver clear, impactful presentations on market trends, policy updates, and key findings.
- Communication: Provide professional and effective phone support to clients, partners, and team members.
- Organization: Manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Qualifications
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Skills and Experience
- Environmental Policy Expertise: Strong interest in environmental policy with familiarity in Cap-and-Trade programs, carbon offset credit standards (e.g., Verra, ACR, Gold Standard), renewable portfolio standards, and low-carbon fuel standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Advanced skills in data analysis, modeling, and managing large datasets to generate actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to analyze and synthesize complex regulatory information into clear, actionable strategies.
- Research Skills: Skilled in conducting independent and thorough research, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and synthesize relevant market and regulatory trends.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for preparing detailed reports, presenting findings, and effectively engaging with stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven ability to proactively address challenges with critical thinking and innovative solutions.
- Phone Communication Skills: Comfortable and professional when building and maintaining relationships over the phone.
