Air Specialty & Equipment Company is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Accountant to assist with and improve upon current month end close procedures, perform account reconciliations, process daily accounts payable and provide financial analysis to help management make informed business decisions. This position will report directly to the Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities include:
- Month end close duties: Perform month-end close duties for manufacturing site and work with Corporate Controller to reduce the time required to close
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist manufacturing site with annual budget process and monthly/quarterly forecasting
- Preparing financial reports: Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Account reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements and various accounts balances to ensure financial statement accuracy
- Job Costing support: Coordinate with internal and external colleagues to track labor, material, overhead costs, etc., for projects
- Accounts payable processing: Processing invoices, obtaining approval for payments, and processing payments
- Maintaining financial records: Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Resolving discrepancies: Investigating documentation and issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments
- Ensuring financial security: Following internal accounting controls and completing database backups
Requirements
- 2-3 years relevant experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- Previous experience working in the air compressor industry preferred
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Self motivated and laser focused on driving improvement
- Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- ~10% travel required
