Computer Scientist / System Administrator
ATEC is looking for Senior-level Computer Scientist / System Administrator to support the Federal Avaiation Administration (FAA)'s system maintenance, integration, and installation of multiple complex computer systems for NAS Enterprise Services-Infrastructure Team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Multitask on the following :
- Upgrade multiple enterprise systems simultaneously : Vmware, Redhat products or COTS products.
- Maintain complex applications in Linux environment (VMs or containers / Kubernetes).
- Work on various system configuration and maintenance : (Active directory, Redhat, Cisco, hardware, Splunk client, Tanium client).
- Some system automation using Ansible, Perl, Bash, power shells, Windows services.
- Work collaboratively with a team or as an individual on assigned projects to meet multiple deadlines and deliverables.
- Second level support for deployment and field issues.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES :
Required :
Experience with Windows, VMware, Linux / Unix environment system administrationExperience with networking configurationExperience with hardware setupExperience with tools / scripting languages for system automation such power shell, ansible, bashExcellent communicationAble to multitask and work on multiple systems to meet tight deadlinesPreferred (Any of the following is preferred but not required) :
Experience with Tanium client, Splunk client or TripwireExperience with containers : Kubernetes or OpenshiftExperience with network configuration (Cisco / Firewall / load balancer setup, Active Directory integration, versioning tools (git / svn))Experience with security administration of networked components to a defined baseline standard (NIST, CIS, STIG)EDUCATION / YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelors degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty (20) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field.Masters Degree in any field of study with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and sixteen (16) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.SECURITY REQUIREMENTS :
