About This Internship
The Safety & Environmental Compliance Intern at LGSTX Services, Inc. will gain hands-on experience in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory processes within an aviation-focused logistics and operations environment. LGSTX, a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), provides comprehensive facility maintenance, material handling system management, and environmental services. This internship is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or Biology, offering opportunities to conduct field inspections, review environmental permits, and assist with training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform work area safety inspections across various facilities
- Assist in the development of training programs related to safety and environmental compliance
- Collect and analyze water samples for compliance with environmental regulations
- Conduct basic field measurements and data analysis
- Review permits and discharge limits to ensure regulatory adherence
- Perform creek inspections and aircraft deicing area inspections to monitor environmental impact
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Capacity to lift up to 20 lbs when conducting fieldwork
- Strong analytical thinking skills for regulatory reviews and data interpretation
- Willingness to wear basic personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety glasses
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or Biology
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance procedures
- Experience or coursework in data collection, auditing, or safety inspections
